Messages: Do You really trust God with all?

Monthly scripture: Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.”

We say that we trust God but is it really true? We spend a lot of time in fear and doubt (maybe or maybe not), begging God to give us the desires of our hearts. Is this trusting God? The Israelites did all the above. They witnessed many miracles but still doubted God’s promises. They saw the Red Sea divided with a solid strong road between an incredible huge wall of water on each side, safe enough to travel on (wow)! Then after crossing to new land, they SAW the walls of water calmly lay down again as the sea. Yet, they grumbled against God. When they were hungry, God rained down bread and quails from the sky. According to Exodus 16:4-20 (NIV)- Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.  On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.” They did as they were told but God also told Moses to tell them “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” “However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell.”  Was this trusting God? God kept HIS promise, but the Israelites doubted His faithfulness. (for more understanding read Exodus 16)

According to Genesis 6: 9-22 (NIV), “Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God… Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.  God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.  So, God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.  So, make yourself an ark of cypress wood.” God gave Noah precise details in building it. And, God said to Noah, “Everything on earth will perish.  But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.  You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.” Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Did Noah, trust God’s Word? In chapters 7-8 of Genesis, Noah continued to trust God’s word and through his trust and obedience Noah’s family was saved and a new world was established by God.

There are so many situations in the Bible that shows God’s faithfulness and man’s trust in HIS word. The Canaanite woman had great faith said Jesus and her requested was granted due to her faith. (Matthew 15: 22)

Jesus is your Savior if you accept Him and trust Him. Therefore, let Him fight your battles; He reigns in victory (Proverb 20:22, Genesis 12:3). Let Him supply your needs; He owns everything. (Psalm 24:1, Psalm 50:12, Luke 12:32) Let Him heal your body, mind, and spirit; He is the Great Physician (Matthew 14:14; Psalms 107:20). Jesus “was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)

You should read the Bible often and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding of It then your faith will become greater. It is then when you can live the life that God intends for you to live without hesitations! As followers of Christ, we live a life of tests and blessings. According to 1 Peter 1:7 New Living Translation (NLT) These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

I ask the question again; do you trust God with all your heart through the good times and the bad times? Do you trust Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

“The Bible never once says, “Figure It Out,” But Over and Over It says. “Trust God.” He’s Already Got It All Figured Out.”
